DeviceTalks Boston has ended

DeviceTalks is a conversation among leaders. It’s an evening for an exchange of ideas, insight and contacts among the pioneers of the medical technology industry. Formerly known as the Big 100, this event is held annually in Boston, Orange County and the Twin Cities.

BETHANY J. HILLS is a Member of the Firm in the Health Care and Life Sciences practice, in the New York office of Epstein Becker Green. She counsels life science, medical device, and health care provider businesses on a broad range of reimbursement, regulatory, and compliance matters.

Ms. Hills:

  • Advises FDA-regulated businesses on domestic and foreign regulatory compliance matters, including import and export issues
  • Assists companies in pre-enforcement situations by helping them manage FDA inspections and investigations, and represents these companies in all aspects of their business, from regulatory submissions for product approvals to collaborative agreements for research, supply, and distribution; product labeling; and structuring financing arrangements
  • Guides clients through the intersection of multiple regulatory agencies, navigating the complex laws that govern referral relationships, privacy and security, government and third-party reimbursement, clinical trial compliance, and professional and entity licensure in the evolving U.S. health care delivery system
  • Regularly works with a wide-range of New York health care providers in focused Medicaid matters, including rate appeals, Office of Medicaid Inspector General audit defense, new program development under the Medicaid Redesign Team priorities, and federal Medicaid waiver programs
  • Helps clients in both the health care and life sciences industries develop strategies to minimize the likelihood of federal or state False Claims Act prosecution
  • Provides compliance counseling regarding the development of customized compliance programs and ongoing compliance program actions, such as evaluation of overpayments for self-disclosure and internal compliance risk assessment and auditing

Chambers USA has ranked Ms. Hills among the "Up-and-Coming Individuals" in the Healthcare category in 2012 and 2013. She was named a "Rising Star" by New York Super Lawyers – Metro Edition in 2013. Additionally, Ms. Hills is a recipient of the ABA and BNA Award for superior academic performance in the field of health law and a Lester Milbrath fellowship from the Environment and Society Institute. She is a frequent lecturer and author on health industry compliance issues and works with academic centers to educate future business leaders on regulatory issues for innovative products and businesses.
